Sebastian Korda will face Carlos Alcaraz in the third round of the French Open on Friday morning, but he isn’t the only sportsperson in his household. The tennis star’s sister, Nelly, is actually one of the very best female golf players.

The world No. 1 is the red-hot favourite to land her first US Open title this week, though she will need to improve markedly if she is to land the spoils after making a 10 on the 12th hole – sinking three balls into the water in a bizarre blip from the superstar.

Korda has proven previously that she is capable of bouncing back though, and her impressive form will certainly breed confidence.

The 25-year-old has won six of her last seven tournaments and has double the points of her nearest rival, earning her comparisons to the dominance that Tiger Woods enjoyed during the men’s division during his prime years.

Korda has been such a dominant force that some of her rivals jokingly thanked her for pulling out of a recent LPGA Tour event as they felt it was a foregone conclusion that she would land the spoils.

Speaking about her rival’s impressive displays, English star Georgia Hall said: “In a way, I hope it continues like that because it's just amazing to see," said the world number 32.

"I just can't get my head around it. Six out of seven is just unbelievable.

“It's great for the game in general. Although we obviously want to win more than anything, for her to keep winning like she is, it's just doing great things for us, promoting the tournaments and the Tour in general."

Korda will be hoping to extend her winning run to seven in her last eight over the next few days, and it could be a sensational week for her family if her brother, Sebastian, is able to land a shock victory over Alcaraz.

The Spaniard is one of the favourites to win the French Open, with his ruthless victories over Jesper De Jong and JJ Wolf highlighting why he is one of the most feared players in the competition.

Alcaraz has impressed over the past few days, and Korda will know that he will need to be at his very best if he is to get a result against the world No. 3.
