A number of tourists have taken to Reddit to share the unusual items that they insist on bringing along every time they go away on holiday.
Whilst a recent study found that around half of Brits always pack tea bags, almost all tourists take a unique item with them to help make their time away from home more comfortable and enjoyable.
Posting to the subreddit r/solotravel, the Reddit user @alloverbeautiful asked others about their strange holiday items, stating theirs is a scrub brush so they can clean their water bottle.
They asked: "What's the totally random thing that you travel with that isn't on most people's packing lists?
"I bring a scrub brush for my reusable water bottle, but I've met fellow travellers who bring things like solar powered twinkle lights, a portable square potty, a Moka pot, little tokens that belong to loved ones as a way to cure homesickness, and a woman who brought a rice cooker as her carry on while backpacking through Asia so she could cook her own meals!"
Whilst the responses were incredibly varied, a number of tourists recommended bringing items that could be used to make small repairs whilst they are away.
Items such as cable ties can be used to secure loose shower heads, whereas detergent pens are able to quickly remove stains from clothes and bedding.
Many travellers also pack electronic items that could come in useful for their trip, including a portable radio to hear what the locals listen to and a luggage scale to make sure they do not exceed the baggage weight limit with souvenirs.

Responding to the post, one Reddit user noted that they always take a good luck charm that helped them to find their missing wallet on a previous trip.
They added: "[I bring a] business card from Walt Disney World Lost & Found from about thirty years ago.
"[I] lost my wallet on a ride as a kid and they had it there. I put one of their cards in my wallet and have moved it from wallet to wallet and never lost another one."
Another member of the group, who enjoys going on long walks in the countryside, suggested that bringing a compass helps keep them on track when their phone runs out of charge.
They continued: "A stone-age analogue compass. If your phone goes down or gets pickpocketed (happened to me recently), and you've lost Google Maps, you can still navigate.
"And I often use it instead of my phone for basic orienteering, on a leash around my neck, it's always there, ready to use for a quick glance, you don't have to turn it on, and you can read it in bright light or night if you get one with luminescent dials."
