Payment Information: We accept payments for court fees, criminal debt (i.e., Assessment, Fine and Restitution) and for the court registry (i.e., Appearance Bond, Restraining Order and Interpleader). Except for restitution and registry payments, we accept cash, personal/business checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, and credit cards. Restitution and registry payments must be made by cash, cashier’s checks, money orders or attorney law firm checks. Payments may be brought or mailed to U.S. District Court, 400 North Miami Avenue, Room 8N09, Miami, FL 33128.

Payments eligible to be paid by personal/business check must comply with the following conditions:

1. Check must be payable to “Clerk, United States Courts”.
2. Check must be imprinted with a name and address (not handwritten or typed).
3. Case number and case name must be written on the memo section of the check.

Notice to Customers Presenting Checks

Return of Cash Bond: Once the defendant has been sentenced and surrenders or is acquitted, the attorney or depositor needs to motion the Court for the return of the funds deposited. Funds deposited in the court registry cannot be disbursed without a court order.

Posting and Release of Corporate Surety Bonds: These are not handled by the financial section. Posting is handled by Operations (305) 523-5200 and the Release by the Records section (305)523-5210.

Each Monday we are provided the new post judgment interest rate. This rate is applicable from: The Monday (or Tuesday, if Monday is a holiday) after the “Week Ending” date through the following Sunday.
