The Global Trigger Tool in the Military Health System Guide

The Global Trigger Tool in the Military Health System: An Implementation Guide for Inpatient Facilities provides the services and military treatment facilities leaders and staff with a resource for understanding what GTT is and how it will be implemented in the MHS. This Implementation Guide includes:

  • An overview of GTT.
  • A discussion of how GTT will be implemented in the MHS, along with roles and responsibilities for MTF staff.
  • A description of the GTT methodology.
  • An introduction to the monthly data reports/tools that will be provided to the MTF.
  • Step-by-step guidance for how to interpret GTT data.
  • Examples for how to present GTT data to MTF stakeholders.
  • Recommendations for leveraging GTT and other patient safety data sources to identify opportunities to drive improvements in patient safety.
