One of the major advantages I've discovered in a data analytics career is the ability to switch between different roles based on your skillset. If you are looking for more engineering based role in analytical fields, more CS relevant domain could be good start to learn. Be familiar with data Structure & Algorithm to retrieve & save the large data efficiently by using programming language, such as Python, Spark or Java. If you prefer to bring more business impact and make it stand out, data consultant or analyst could be good position to consider. Logical thinking and presentation skill is more important to make it impactful. Developing these skills throughout your life can be valuable for your entire life journey as well.

If you cannot afford a certification or a degree, you can also learn through YouTube videos and other free resources. All that will matter is that you have the skills and knowledge to perform what employers are looking for. Create a portfolio to showcase what you've learned (you can learn how to create one through YouTube as well!). If you want something more structured, another free option is to audit a class or course through Coursera. You will not be able to take exams or get a Certificate of Completion, but you will be able to go through the course and learn new skills. Good luck!

Make sure you put any skills, certifications, and relevant projects on your LinkedIn. Interact with people in your network and provide valuable comments and posts where you can. A good idea for posts would be on anything new you are working on in your portfolio or with your professional development. Received a new certification? Post about it!
