I was offended and demoralised and said so. We had a chat and came up with a more respectful and agreed way forward and worked together very happily for another big project.

With our content, writers go through two internal checks and one external checks. However this is not set in stone, if you notice some glaring errors, then ask them to send it back to you for another round of internal checks. The process largely depends on the writer and their abilities (+ attitudes). We've had a writer in the past who resolved all comments without actually attending to them.
