Thanks in part to a $650,000 grant from the National Institutes for Food and Agriculture, a research collaboration between ASC and the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center will explore the impact of cover crops on soil health and corn production to improve agriculture sustainability. The research findings will be used to develop tools to help farmers make decisions about when, where and what type of cover crops could be beneficial. Principles on the project include ASC director Kaiyu Guan, fellow ASC Scientists Bin Peng and Sheng Wang, Danforth principal investigator Christopher Topp and his colleagues Marcus Griffiths and Kong Wong.
