We’re excited to announce that Kevin Cox Jr, PhD, will now hold a joint faculty position with the Danforth Center and Washington University in St. Louis! Kevin is stepping into the role of Assistant Member at the Danforth Center. A native St. Louisan, Kevin is passionate about plant disease resistance. His research involves bioimaging, plant pathology, and spatial genomics to better understand how plant cells communicate to defend themselves against pathogens. “I think of spatial genomics as taking a blank map of the U.S.A. and labeling the state borders, cities and towns, rivers, and roads that it consists of,” Kevin explains. “If we can pinpoint or map out where genes are located in plants, we can better understand how plant cells communicate to grow and defend themselves against stresses.” Learn more about Kevin’s exceptional accomplishments: https://loom.ly/by84-vE Congrats, Kevin! 🎉
