Today, we are recognizing the anniversary of the day that Hurricane Andrew slammed into South Florida as a CAT 5, causing $27 billion in damages (1992 dollars) in the U.S. alone. Hurricane Andrew, still considered one of the most powerful hurricanes to ever hit the U.S, is an often-used example of the importance of avoiding complacency, even during seasons that are forecast to have “below-normal” hurricane activity. #TeamACDC’s Allison Diego lived in South Florida when Andrew hit, and shared her experience with us, and the impact that it held for her and her career: “Thirty-two years ago, Hurricane Andrew took my first home. Working for the Miami-Dade Parks Department, I found purpose in helping others while distributing ice and water to survivors. Amidst the devastation, I saw firsthand the resilience of a community and the power of public service. That experience shaped my path, leading me into a career in emergency management, where we strive to make a difference every day. From loss came a deep commitment to service, and it's this commitment that drives us to help others rebuild and recover, no matter the challenges we face.” https://lnkd.in/ev9D4ivF #EmergencyManagement #HurricaneAndrew #Anniversary

ICYMI…#TeamACDC’s CEO and Founder recaps Year 6! We’re just getting started! #Competent #Caring #Connected
Today, I am filled with immense pride as we mark a significant milestone—our 6th anniversary as a company! Only a small percentage of businesses make it this far, and even fewer are female-owned. I am honored to stand among the resilient women who have defied the odds and led with purpose, empathy, and strength. The traditional gift for a six-year anniversary is iron, and I can’t think of a better symbol for what we’ve built together—strength, resiliency, and maybe even a little bit of stubbornness, in the best way possible. Our journey has been one of constant evolution. We’ve navigated the challenges of growth, making difficult decisions along the way, all with the goal of becoming more competent, caring, and connected in our mission. As we’ve expanded our services and reach, we’ve also sharpened our focus, ensuring that we continue to deliver the highest level of service to the communities we serve. We’ve faced some challenges, too. But here’s the thing about iron: it doesn’t bend easily. We’ve weathered the changes, adapted, and come out stronger on the other side. We’ve grown, we’ve evolved, and we’ve made a real impact. To our incredible clients and teaming partners—thank you for trusting us to stand by your side during critical times. Your belief in our capabilities has fueled our determination to excel. To our team members, both past and present—thank you for your dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment. Each of you has played a vital role in shaping who we are today. Here’s to the next chapter of our journey, where we will continue to grow, adapt, and make a lasting impact. We are more than just a company; we are a community, and together, we are unstoppable. #6YearAnniversary #WomenInBusiness #EmergencyManagement #CompetentCaringConnected #Gratitude

ACDC's Peter B. was integral in the development and facilitation of this presentation to the State of #Colorado alongside partner KPMG. #TeamACDC has assisted clients in Oregon, Florida, and Colorado to remain confident as they navigate complex policy and potential federal funding duplications. Please reach out with any needs or questions you may have on DOB - we'd be happy to discuss with you! #DuplicationOfBenefits #Training #Partnership
One of the most inspiring aspects of my #KPMG consultant life is working hands on with government clients to help design programs to meet their public interest goals. This week our #StateofColorado team had the honor of facilitating a week of sessions with state and local agencies to help craft approaches to using their federal monies without “duplication of benefits.” Amid a sea of federal monies in use among state and locals with overlapping policy purposes, the tailored “DOB” workshops were a gratifying, timely, and recommended experience. Reach out if you or your client might have need and interest. #goteam #grantsmanagement #policywithpurpose
