Breaking Down The Money & Business Behind Sports

ALLCITY Network is changing sports media. They just raised a $12 million Series B and are already doing eight figures in annual revenue. Full disclosure: I own equity in ALLCITY Network (because I think it will be massive). Here's why 👇 Everyone knows sports media is struggling. The democratization of content (podcasts, social media, etc.) has hurt RSNs, newspapers, and radio stations, leading to smaller audiences and mass layoffs. However, this is where ALLCITY sees an opportunity. The easiest way to explain ALLCITY is that it's a digitally-focused network of local sports content. The business model is simple: 1. Go to a big sports town (Chicago, etc.) 2. Hire the best talent (radio/reporters) 3. Have them start podcasts/write 4. Sell ads as a network ALLCITY's personalities then work together to operate local sports networks, delivering fans 6-10 hours of original live-streamed sports talk daily in each city. • Podcasts • Written content • Live shows and events They cover every sports team in that city — and it's working. ALLCITY's business has exploded: • 8-figures in annual revenue • 7-figure merchandise business • Combined audience of 100M in 2024 • Avg. podcast listenership is 50 minutes ALLCITY's valuation has now doubled 3 years in a row. But the Series B could be even bigger... ALLCITY's $12 million Series B was led by TEGNA. This is huge because TEGNA owns nearly 30% of the country's local television market. And more importantly... The TEGNA investment includes a commercial agreement to place ALLCITY content on TEGNA-owned TV stations nationwide. ALLCITY is already live in four markets: • Denver • Phoenix • Chicago • Philadelphia All these markets are either cash flow positive or will be in the next 60-90 days, and ALLCITY is opening its 5th market in Dallas (with @TheSteinLine) later this month. The best part is that ALLCITY's localized model actually gets stronger as the business grows. That's because the network effect allows them to move from regional to national advertising deals. EXAMPLE: ALLCITY's Dallas launch will have 8 pre-sold ad partners on day one. This network model is hugely successful: • ALLCITY has 50+ advertising partners • ALLCITY's advertiser re-sign rate is 80% The company also recently signed a multi-million dollar deal that makes Bet365 their exclusive sports betting partner in ALLCITY's first four markets. This is why I'm betting on ALLCITY to win. The company is only live in 4 markets today, but there are 30 local sports markets that fit its model. ALLCITY is also about to launch city-specific FAST channels, bringing 24/7 local sports networks to each team they cover. So make sure you are paying attention. The sports media landscape is changing rapidly. Fans are consuming more content — just in different ways — and ALLCITY has positioned itself better than anyone else to take advantage of that shifting dynamic. P.S. Derek Futterman does such a good job on these. I’m glad he had a chance to sit down with Anthony and talk about his transition to ALLCITY here. I could not be more happy with the growth of PHLY since we launched it late last year.

Today's Phoenix sports fans aren't transplants and retirees-- the median age is 34.4 and per Axios, 71.5% of people who are born in Arizona stay in Arizona. PHNX continues to be one of the fastest growing networks across ALLCITY Network because it's been built by locals who live and breathe Phoenix sports. Excited to see what's in store for football season...

It's been a busy few days for our crew: -Dropped a sick new PHNX merch collection -Arizona State athletic director Graham Rossini live in studio yesterday -Arizona Cardinals rookie WR Tejhaun Palmer live in studio yesterday -PHNX Mercury Takeover tonight There is no better place to be a diehard Arizona sports fans than being a part of the PHNX community.
