Did you know that second-hand fashion items are taxed twice? 🤯 We are thrilled to announce that as of last July, Vestiaire Collective has officially joined ACT (American Circular Textiles), a US-based coalition with over 30 like-minded leading fashion and textile organizations. As we celebrated Second-Hand Day on August 25th, we are spotlighting a crucial issue: the double taxation of second-hand apparel and alterations in many U.S. states. This practice harms affordability and the potential growth of circular and sustainable fashion. "We need fair tax policies to unlock the full potential of the fashion resale market.
