Increasing the representation of American Indians and Alaska Natives in business.

Über uns

About Us: AIBL is the only American Indian non-profit organization solely dedicated to empowering business students in the United States. Our programs are designed to engage students in activities that stimulate, enhance, and expand educational experiences beyond traditional academic methods. All students are encouraged to participate in AIBL regardless of race, academic major, or career objectives. History: AIBL was organized in January 1994 and was recognized as a 501(c)(3) in 1995 on the University of Montana’s campus in Missoula as a result of founder, and first Executive Director, Michelle Henderson’s (Assiniboine) master thesis. The original idea evolved from concern expressed by many tribal leaders that recognized a critical need for educated, experienced members to assist with tribal economic development efforts. Mission: The mission of AIBL is to increase the representation of American Indians and Alaska Natives in business and entrepreneurial ventures through education and leadership development opportunities. Vision Statement: AIBL’s vision over the next decade is to become the pre-eminent national non-profit organization serving American Indians and Alaska Natives by providing business and entrepreneurship education, leadership development training, and the necessary support to help young men and women who aspire to pursue studies and careers in business, entrepreneurship, or related disciplines. Founding Principles: AIBL's spirit of success stems from our four guiding principles: Education, Leadership, Experience, and Culture

The 2nd AIBL Charity Golf Classic, hosted at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort in March, welcomed 116 golfers and raised $20,000 to support the Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures Seven Teachings Academic Scholarship. A $20,000 scholarship was awarded to 20-year-old Kameron Dolezal from the Duckwater Shoshone community. Prairie Blount, Executive Director at AIBL, said: “We found the ideal scholarship recipient through our University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) AIBL Chapter. Harrah College of Hospitality) with a strong Indigenous staff that includes Tammi Tiger, the Director of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Tribal Education Initiative with the UNLV College of Hospitality and Danielle Finn, the Director of the UNLV Indian Nations Gaming and Governance Program.” AIBL has been working closely with UNLV this past year, partnering on initiatives such as AIBL’s National Business & Leadership Student Conference, golf scholarship, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Native Youth College Camp. “We're honored to support the AIBL golf tournament, which is crucial in nurturing the next generation of Indigenous business leaders through scholarships,” said Joe Nayquonabe, CEO of Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures. “Congratulations to Kameron Dolezal on his scholarship award—we celebrate his achievement and the bright future he represents.” Kameron starts school in the fall. In his own words, he says, “thank you, Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures for the Seven Teachings Academic Scholarship. Without the burden of financial stress, I can focus on my B.A. in Hospitality Management with a concentration in PGA Professional Golf Management.” The 3rd AIBL Charity Golf Classic will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
