AWA is the oldest and largest low-cost spay/neuter clinic, adoption center and no-kill animal shelter in South Jersey.

AWA is a private, no-kill, 501(c)3 organization that does not receive federal, state, or county funding. We rely completely on donations. All of our animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, micro-chipped, and come with one free month of pet health insurance. (Insurance excludes rabbits and small animals). There are adoption and surrender fees required to fund and continue our life-saving work. AWA was founded in 1948 by a small group on individuals who wanted to address and help the problem of unwanted pets in our community. In our adoption program, we have dogs and puppies, cats and kittens, rabbits, and small animals. Call 856-424-2288 or email us at [email protected] for more information. Brandywine Living at Voorhees made 2023 a year of giving back ✨ We are thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with ground breakers at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System , Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Animal Welfare Association. Proud partners like The Tender, to raise over $3,000 and help support vital transportation to the center. Scott Counsel: South Jersey Estate and Elder Law Attorneys and team who helps our residents make over 100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every single month for Cathedral Kitchen. Voorhees Business Assoc and my fellow board members, who are so dedicated to serving the Voorhees community and Voorhees Police Holiday fund created to help support local families in need around the holidays. Bratton Estate & Elder Care Attorneys and Suncrest Hospice and their help in raising over $1,800 to support breast cancer research and women everywhere. And to anyone else I am not mentioning- we’ve brought entertainment to local senior centers and communities, we’ve made holiday cards for those selflessly serving over seas, we’ve really made a difference. Thank you! We are all so fortunate to have the opportunity to touch the lives of our seniors, but also the communities they come from.
