APIAVote held a watch party and reception last week at the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago! Over 200 people attended, including speakers such as Rep. Grace Meng, Rep. Jill Tokuda, CA Attorney General Rob Bonta, Ambassador Katherine Tai, and Ald. Nicole Lee. It was exciting to be at the convention and surrounded by so many passionate people! Happy International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples! The United Nations established the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples in 1994 to commemorate the first meeting of the Working Group on Indigenous Populations, as part of their work on the promotion and protection of Human Rights. We honor this day by advocating for the inclusion and empowerment of all communities in the democratic process.

From a new Pew Research Center report: "68% majority of Indian American registered voters identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party, and 29% identify with or lean toward the Republican Party."
