Helping youth realize their greatness.
Über uns
Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County inspire youth to realize their greatness. Since March 2020 and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County's doors have remained open to safely support youth and their families who need us most at our Clubs in Olympia, Tumwater, Lacey, (2 locations), Rochester, Tenino, and Yelm. Low membership fees and scholarships have kept the Club accessible to youth who need us most since 2001. Community support from a range of individuals, businesses, and corporations ensure this happens. During everyday operations in pre-COVID conditions, we see a unique cross-section of Thurston County’s nearly 3,000 Club members: 71% are under age 12; 41% identify as people of color; 59% identify as white; 50% qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and 44% live in single-parent households.

We had the pleasure of touring the Nisqually Indian Tribe's Youth and Community Center. Thank you to Youth Program Manager Kevin Moore for showing us this wonderful facility and introducing us to Coast Salish artist Kyle Sanchez. As you can see in the photo, Kyle's wood work with the center's youth is amazing! We look forward to partnering with you so that our youth continue to learn and appreciate the rich history and culture of the Nisqually Indian Tribe.

We hope you have enjoyed getting to know a little bit about each of our Dunk Tank Challenge contestants these last few days and have one final profile to share with you... Line is an enthusiastic and committed community advocate, who can be seen organizing and supporting local events and initiatives! Her efforts and wealth of experience have enhanced the quality of life in Yelm and it is clear that she believes supporting the kids and teens who access Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County is an important part of that! We are so grateful she said yes to being a part of the Dunk Tank Challenge!
