One of world’s leading futurist speakers attends Lawton economic summit, speaks on FISTA LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Tuesday, Aug. 21, saw the continuation of the Lawton Fort Sill Economic Summit, where a man who can be called one of the top three business gurus by the New York Times, made his return to Lawton. Daniel Burrus is considered one of the world’s leading futurist speakers. 7News spoke with Burrus on Tuesday, who told us he visited the area several years ago, spotted some weak economic spots within the city, and out of those ideas grew FISTA. “We did not have opportunity. We were not attracting any new businesses,” Burrus said. “So we identified these opportunities and Lawton put them in place. Today, I came back, almost six years later, and FISTA six years ago was an idea that was told it was impossible. It’s an impossible idea.
