Launched in 2001, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation honors the life and memory of the Ripken family patriarch, long-time mentor and coach, Cal Ripken, Sr. Since 2001, we have created youth development programs and outdoor recreational spaces that have impacted over 11,000,000 at-risk youth with the help of over 40,000 youth mentors, coaches, teachers, and law enforcement volunteers. Our mission is to continue to help strengthen America’s most underserved and distressed communities by supporting and advocating for children, building Youth Development Parks, partnering with law enforcement and youth service agencies, and addressing community needs including STEM education through our national program initiatives. The Foundation provides opportunities for kids to play in safe environment, live healthy lifestyles, gain access to STEM education, and learn to make productive choices for their futures. We owe our success to our dedicated national Board of Directors, our corporate, foundation, individual, state, and federal sponsors, and our youth partners who help us to impact 1.4 million at-risk youth across the country each year.

Last week, we hosted 200 youth and 60 mentors from 23 states for our annual summer camp. We had 85 incredible law enforcement officers for provide mentorship to our youth this week. This may look like a baseball/softball camp but it's a #lifeskills camp. THANK YOU to our incredible partners for making camp happen! Earlier this month, we partnered with the Milton Hershey School to offer an all-expenses paid baseball/softball camp to nearly 50 #Maryland youth from Anderson Monarchs, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore , Boys & Girls Club of Frederick County, and James Mosher Baseball League. This was more than a camp, it served as an opportunity to bring together positive adult mentors and youth to play and learn together. What is your favorite thing about your #mentor or #coach?
