Camping World

In the beginning of August, I wrapped up my 10 week internship with Camping World at their Chicago office as a Talent Acquisition Intern. I am extremely thankful for the welcoming and supportive community and team I had the pleasure of working with! During my time at Camping World, I was able to assist and listen in on many business processes including the hiring process and interviewing process. Utilizing Workday and Excel, I ensured new hires submitted proper documentation into Workday, such as their I-9 form. Additionally, I had the opportunity to sit in on, and provide feedback on candidate interviews, giving me experience and insight on best practices for hiring candidates. I would like to give a special thanks to Faith Brownell and the Talent Acquisition team for their support throughout the summer and this opportunity to work and grow my skills in the Talent Acquisition space. I am grateful for all I’ve learned and excited for my senior year at Illinois State and to bring my newly learned skills with me!

Reflecting on my summer internship at Camping World, I'm filled with gratitude. Each day brought valuable lessons. Taking on impactful projects for America’s largest RV dealer was exciting. Understanding how to apply data to real business problems was rewarding. Ryan Maley, Austin Shinn, Jun Yang, and Jack Morris were all great mentors and I wanted to thank them for all the help! Networking with the rest of the team at Camping World and fellow data science professionals taught me a lot too! Overall, this experience has shaped my future path. Forward-thinking and a supportive culture, two key aspects of Camping World, truly challenged me to grow and learn. Finally, I wanted to thank Faith Brownell, Ardella Thomas, and Ellie Marsan for putting together a great internship program this summer. Eager for what’s next! Ready for new challenges ahead.

Sir Richard Branson is famously quoted as saying, “A company's employees are its greatest asset and your people are your product.” I had the pleasure of visiting the teams at Grand Design RV by Camping World in Green Bay WI and Coachmen RV by Camping World in Lacrosse WI exclusive locations. Both teams exemplify that they are our greatest assets, working together for the benefit of the customer, company and team. At the Lacrosse location, they had a flag dedication ceremony and bbq where the community joined the festivities. What an incredible sight!
