The recognition came courtesy of Silver Waves Media, which honored the NIL space's 70 most impactful individuals, made up of executives, athletes, and thought leaders who have shaped the landscape of collegiate sports and athlete endorsement. Alongside CEO Steven Farag, Cook has overseen the NIL Store’s development into the nation’s leader in NIL apparel over the last three years. NIL Store 🤝 Baylor "WE PAY PLAYERS" ICYMI, Baylor football went viral last weekend when its coaches debuted their "We Pay Players" apparel at practice. It was a brash statement from the Baylor football program, and one that would have been entirely unheard of less than five years ago. But this is the era of college football we now live in, as massive football programs jockey for the lead in recruiting. When Baylor coach Dave Aranda was asked about his program's recruiting success at Big 12 Media Day, he simply said, "We're paying players." That sparked Baylor's athletics and NIL staff, including David Kaye & Haneen Rashwan, to take the bold step of taking Coach Aranda's statement to the next level. The kicker? David & Haneen wanted to make sure their athletes were able to benefit from apparel sales. So they worked with Campus Ink's NIL Store to tie in GXG™. A portion of all sales from the "We Pay Players" collection goes straight to GXG, which then supports the players. Baylor got their message out. And their players were able to benefit. Oh, and Baylor's tweet reached more than 3.2 million people. The landscape in college athletics is rapidly changing. Instead of denying it, we decided to lean all the way into it. We had talked for awhile about creating something that stood out & created a movement that promoted NIL & student-athlete's. When Dave Aranda made his comments at BIG 12 media day this year, we knew we had our moment. Was it going to be controversial? Yes, but it accomplished everything we needed it to. More eyes on Baylor + A Fundraising opportunity for NIL + Recruiting + Normalizing the Landscape = A perfect opportunity. A big part of our jobs is teaching student-athletes how to capitalize on moments and this was a perfect example of how. Over 2.5M views on X, and coverage from SportsCenter, FrontOffice Sports & many more, I couldn't have imagined a better outcome. I'm grateful to have a great leadership team at Baylor that believed & trusted in the vision. We couldn't have pulled it off without our amazing partners over at Campus Ink. Bringing on NIL inventory can be daunting for retailers - who's going to have a breakout season? What if someone gets hurt? And we can't forget about the transfer portal. At Campus Ink we've designed a solution which allows retailers to decorate NIL gear on-site, eliminating inventory risks. The Blanks Program provides retailers with a complete decorating kit including an ordering kiosk, blank apparel, transfers for ALL student-athletes and a heat press. We had the pleasure of installing the inaugural set-up at the University of Utah Campus Store over the last few days. Super excited to help them broaden their NIL reach in-store. Thankful for the full team effort that it took to get this program off the ground and can't wait to see how it evolves over the next few months.
