We look to living system patterns and frameworks to design, manage, and monitor our organizations, communities, and workplaces. So, what if we apply that approach to inform the principles guiding the design of our larger societal systems, such as the economy? In today’s #WithLifeWednesday, we invite you to question the core principles upon which our economy is designed. In a quick Google search, asking, "What principles does the economy reflect?" Google's AI responds, "The economy is based on many principles, including scarcity, supply and demand, and incentives.” What other principles do you see reflected in our exponential economic growth models? Now, let’s look at it through the lens of the 3 categories of patterns we recognize in living systems: holism, organization, and relationships. How might those principles you see in our current economic models be misaligned or aligned with living systems? In Capital Institute’s Introduction to Regenerative Economics course, we’ll reimagine and redesign our economy in alignment with living systems and guided by Capital Institute’s 8 Living Systems Principles for Regenerative Vitality.
