We love seeing all these historic, rare, and restored Cat® machines and assorted antique heavy equipment that are part of Billy Sanders’ growing, private collection in Northern Virginia. As the owners of Sanders Quarry – which Billy’s grandfather started and where Billy works today – the Sanders are long-time Carter Machinery customers, and Billy was bitten by the Cat bug as a young boy while watching the machines in action at that rock quarry. Today, his unofficial “museum” is nearing 100 pieces of classic equipment after almost 40 years of collecting, and it’s still growing. Billy travels to tractor shows and auctions around the country and also searches online for these early, tracked crawler tractors and other antique machines to add to his collection.

This achievement is made possible with Cat Command, a remote-control system that enables operators to run the equipment – without having it in their line of sight – from inside a command center approximately 1,000 feet away.
