What Makes Us Unique
William Wrigley Jr. bought majority of Santa Catalina Island Company in 1919. He spent millions on infrastructure, a reservoir, Hotel Atwater, Bird Park, and other attractions to make Catalina Island a "playground for everyone." During the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, Hollywood's elite frequented The Island. It's a popular filming site. More than 500 films, documentaries, advertisements, and TV shows have been shot on Catalina, mainly at Two Harbors.
