Our Heart Center has achieved important milestones in short-term outcomes based on STS-defined benchmarks like operative mortality. But true quality and safety should be judged by more than short-term metrics alone. The cardiac surgery team launched long-term outcomes reporting by condition and hopes more hospitals will report similar statistics. https://lnkd.in/dn8-x3c9

Meet Yvonne Garces, MSW, a dedicated family service associate with Children’s Mobile Health. Since 2003, Yvonne has been a compassionate advocate for kinship caregivers, especially grandparents who have taken on the role of primary caregivers for their grandchildren. Through the Grandparents Support Group she developed, Yvonne provides essential resources, emotional support, and a sense of community for these unsung heroes.
