Special shoutout to our Assistant Director of School and Outreach, Jacqueline S., who was invited to present on a panel at Association of Children's Museums alongside with Karen Kelly, our Director of Exhibits and Education, and Dr. Gary Bingham from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development! They spoke at ACM's Going The Distance! panel about developing virtual learning strategies that work based off of our virtual programs and their research and findings over the past few years.
Assistant Director of School & Outreach at Children's Museum of Atlanta. I am on a mission to provide quality educational experiences with a focus on visual & performing arts, STEM and environmental wellness.

Every day in our Museum kids ask "what happens if...?," "why?," and "how come?". Then they follow their curiosity to find new joys and new questions. Providing the perfect environment for self-directed exploration is only one of the many ways that museums worldwide contribute to learning. At Children's Museum of Atlanta, we're also passionate about contributing to academic research that could one day improve learning outcomes for Georgia's children. Together with our partners at Georgia State University we're researching virtual learning's impact over time and implementing the latest findings to make storytime more engaging and help kids build their vocabulary in a way that lasts. Student researchers at Georgia Institute of Technology test new exhibits on our museum floor to discover how design can foster curiosity. As they develop and test their designs they find new ways to keep kids curious while expanding the applications of exhibit design, software development, and design thinking. As this year's #InternationalMuseumDay theme reminds us, museums are a hub of research and learning. Every day we're learning something new. What could be more fun? #MuseumTrends #Museums #ChildrensMuseums #LearningThroughPlay #PowerOfPlay #Research
