Happy Parks and Recreation Month! 🌳 The City of Anaheim currently has 67 parks, 702.5 acres, and 2 splash pads (Ponderosa and Miraloma). A third splash pad is in the design process at Brookhurst Park. Be sure to keep an eye out for it!  The Oak Canyon Nature Center is a 58-acre park nestled in East Anaheim. The park contains over three miles of hiking trails and other enjoyable stops for visitors, including a birdwatching area, a butterfly garden, and interactive panels highlighting local flora and fauna. The Oak Canyon Nature Center also hosts a variety of programs for families and nature lovers of all ages. One of these programs includes our monthly Night Hikes, which allow participants to experience the park after dark. Tales and Trails is a parent-and-me program where children ages 2-5 are introduced to the wonders of the natural world. Another community favorite is our seasonal day camps, which provide children with activities that include crafts, hiking, and learning about nature, all with a fun theme for each week! A huge thank you to our Community Services Department for all they do for our community and making Anaheim a better place for all of us. From organizing community events and recreational programs to maintaining our beautiful parks and providing essential services, their work impacts every part of our city.
