Today, September 11, 2024, marks the 23rd anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11, where we remember the lives lost in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard United Airlines Flight 93. As part of our national observance of Patriot Day, the City of Livermore lowers flags to half-staff in honor of those who perished on that fateful day and in the years since. We encourage all Livermore community members to reflect on the significance of Patriot Day and remember the bravery and sacrifice of so many.

We are excited to announce that the City has completed a required Lead Service Line Inventory. Since 2017, our dedicated City staff have been hard at work, conducting a thorough assessment of all public and private water service lines for the presence of lead. Over the past seven years, they have meticulously inspected, verified, cataloged, and recorded the materials used in the water service lines that supply the homes and businesses in our community. The results? Not a single service line was found to be made of lead! This is a huge win for public health and a testament to the diligent efforts of our staff to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. A big thank you to our City staff for their commitment to this vital project. 👏

🎉 Join us next Friday for an event with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to celebrate our solar EV chargers! 🌞 Earlier this year, the City installed two solar EV chargers on the Civic Center campus. The chargers are off-the-grid and have a battery that can be used for power during emergencies. The City paid for the chargers through a new rebate program from DOE that funds climate resilience projects in cities. 🚗 Livermore’s project was the first to be awarded under this new program and representatives from DOE will be here to celebrate the milestone. Come check out the chargers and learn more about the DOE's efforts to support climate resilience in local communities like ours! 📆 Friday, August 30 ⏰ 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. 📍 Civic Center Library, 1188 S. Livermore Ave.
