In case you missed it, the City's Sustainability & Resilience Division has been working hard on the implementation of the Equitable Climate Action Plan (ECAP)! They recently published a 2024 StoryMap Progress Update to showcase accomplishments across the ECAP's 40 actions; this is the second year of this tool, and changes have been made with the feedback provided in the first iteration. The features of this StoryMap Collection include: 🌟Centralizing communication on climate equity related projects undertaken by various city departments, 🌟Highlighting the City’s ECAP progress in an accessible manner, and 🌟Creating ECAP reporting and communication mechanisms for greater transparency. Site registration for Oakland Creek to Bay Day is OPEN! Groups and individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to host their own clean-ups or coastal restoration projects on Saturday, September 21st. Oakland’s Creek to Bay Day is an annual event held in conjunction with California Coastal Cleanup Day: one of the largest organized volunteer days in California. Since its inception in 1985, volunteers have removed over 26 million pounds of trash from beaches and inland waterways across the state. Join your neighbors and take action to protect the Oakland watershed by hosting a clean-up in your community. Site registration closes Friday, August 30th.
