Among these recipients is Community Resources for Justice provides crisis intervention, domestic violence intervention, and mentoring programs. This grant initiative highlights ConnexCares' commitment to fostering community growth and enhancing the quality of life for residents in the region.

A Connex member recently stopped by our Guilford Branch looking to explore buying out their current auto lease. They were greeted by our Branch Manager, Gezim Stroka, who provided our competitive auto loan rates. During the interaction, Gezim discovered that the member had an existing high-interest HELOC with another institution, which sparked a conversation about refinancing their existing loan with Connex at a more favorable rate. When a member walked in to conduct their routine transactions, Taimur greeted them with warmth and efficiency. While assisting with their banking needs, he asked if there was anything else he could help with. The member jokingly said, "Yeah, if you can give me $100,000 to clear my debts.", which sparked a conversation that would significantly impact their financial journey. Taimur discovered the member had applied for a home equity loan two years ago but was turned down at the time. After reassessing the member's situation, Taimur was able to make some suggestions for loan consolidation and the member agreed to submit the application, this time around he was accepted. That ended up saving the member almost $300 a month in loan payments and brought a feeling of relief about their financial situation thanks to Taimur's expert advice and friendly demeanor. Damaris worked with a member who needed an auto loan. During the application process, she learned that they were also concerned about their high-rate credit card debt. Damaris prepared a cash-flow analysis for the member to see where savings possibilities existed. The analysis showed that the member could save hundreds of dollars in interest payments if he moved his high-rate credit card debt to a Connex credit card. The member was so excited and impressed with the cash-flow analysis Damaris prepared that they brought in their daughter. Great job advocating for our members and showing them their possibilities, Damaris!!

Big shout out to our Connex team members for doing an excellent job when they volunteered their time at The Diaper Bank of Connecticut last week. Thank you for going out in the community and embodying the values of Connex, inspiring us all to give back.

Last week, our team had an incredible time helping teach high school juniors and seniors at Trumbull High School's Realty Check Event about budgeting, credit scores, and saving. It was a fantastic opportunity to empower our community with financial literacy education.
