Friday marked 3 years that I've been at Constant Contact! (Workday counts 3 years in December bc I started as a contractor but linkedin knows the real date) 3 years at CTCT has mostly been full of highs, I have truly had the most fun and rewarding years of my career here thus far. And this summer while in the highest high and getting a promotion onto the Learning and Engagement team I experienced one of the hardest times of my life. The morning of my first official day in my new role I got the call that my grandmother passed away. Anyone who knows me well knows that Grandma Dear was a rock and foundation to my life. She raised me from the age of ten and was the first person to teach me work ethic and believed in me. All I wanted to do was make her proud and that drove so much of my success. Getting that devastating news on the first day of a new role would be treacherous in a lot of organizations but I knew without a doubt my team had my back. Week one did not at all look like what I expected and the past few months I had to take multiple trips back home to take care of things. And every step of the way I had constant support from my leaders and team. They let me share memories of Grandma Dear and cry in 1:1s all while supporting me as I learned a brand new role and team. I feel so lucky to know that I work at a company that really and truly lets me bring my full self to work. They cheer me on through the highs and lows. So cheers to 3 years and more growth and learning.
