🌱🌍 Exciting news for #circularity in the EU! As of yesterday, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) is officially in force, marking a significant step towards a greener and more sustainable future. This regulation is a cornerstone of the EU’s strategy to promote environmentally sustainable and circular products, aligning with the goals of the 2020 Circular Economy Action Plan. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐑? The ESPR aims to enhance the circularity, energy performance, and overall environmental sustainability of products available in the EU market. It replaces the previous Ecodesign Directive and sets a comprehensive framework for eco-design requirements across a broad range of products. 𝐂𝟐𝐂 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝® 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬  C2C Certified is a guiding tool for companies to progressively integrate eco-design principles. Among other requirements, it directly addresses the regulation's requirements to: 🔋 Reduce energy consumption  🛠️ Increase product longevity and reparability  ♻️ Enhance recyclability and use of recycled content  ❌ Minimize harmful substances  📉 Lower carbon and environmental footprints 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭?  Part of the requirement will be to have a #DigitalProductPassport with detailed sustainability information available for consumers. C2C Certified products (V4.0 / V4.1) already have a #verified Circularity Data Report with information on their circularity achievements.
