How can we make language models safer without sacrificing usefulness? 🤔 Our Dynamo AI Research team tackled this critical issue in its latest groundbreaking method called PrimeGuard. Developed by Blaze(j) Manczak, Eliott Zemour, Eric Lin, and Vaikkunth Mugunthan, PrimeGuard balances the safety and effectiveness of language models without the need for extensive tuning. Last week, our team introduced PrimeGuard, a new state-of-the-art guardrailing method, at ICML 2024 in Vienna. PrimeGuard adapts any black-box language model to custom policy guidelines with minimal additional cost. It was an honor to discuss our work during the Next Generation of AI Safety workshop, hosted by OpenAI and Google DeepMind. The event was full of new insights and collaboration opportunities, giving us even more inspiration for the future of Dynamo AI Research.
