Another tremendous achievement for the EnPower team!   EnPower has deployed an “electrode first” strategy to directly tackle one of the most difficult aspects of battery manufacturing. The team in Indianapolis has successfully executed a customer electrode! This marks another milestone for EnPower and its journey to manufacture high performing lithium-ion batteries. Every year, EnPower takes time to celebrate summer with our dedicated staff by hosting a summer picnic. This year, we also used the time to recognize the contributions of two excellent interns who spent their summer break with us. Cole Hobby and Henry Greenwood both came to us from Purdue University, and we asked them to reflect on their experience. Cole said of his experience, “This summer I had the opportunity to work at EnPower as an Electrode Engineering Intern. I became familiar with the bench scale process and focused on comparing electrodes made there with ones made at the pilot line. I also investigated different electrode formulations, ultimately finding an effective one and suggesting it for future research. I am thankful to the EnPower team for this amazing experience!” Henry added, “During my time as a mechanical engineering intern, I gained valuable hands-on experience with the lithium-ion cell assembly process. I designed custom fixtures and altered existing machines to enhance the standardization of the R&D cell manufacturing line. It was an incredible learning experience and I'm grateful for the chance to have been part of the EnPower team." EnPower is pleased to announce the appointment of Omkar Nadgauda as the new Chief Operating Officer at our Manufacturing Headquarters in Indianapolis, IN. He is an alumnus of the Kelly School of Business in Indiana and Auburn, with an impressive 18-year career scaling and leading manufacturing processes for lithium-ion battery manufacturers. Omkar has a unique blend of qualities, including a proven record of academic and leadership excellence, analytical abilities to address complex strategic issues, and a collaborative and positive work style, which make him an asset to our organization.
