Today President von der Leyen visited Črna, the 🇸🇮 Slovenian city devastated by floods one year ago.     Dear Slovenia, Europe is by your side. We are tabling €430 million from our EU Solidarity Fund to help you recover, repair and rebuild.    We will keep working with local authorities to make the best use of these funds.     12 months later, the devastation of the floods and the mud that was covering everything leaves new space for hope.    More ➡️ https://europa.eu/!CXDJKK #EuropeanUnion #EUSolidairity

    • President von der Leyen, dressed in a light green blouse and beige pants, holds the flag of Slovenia alongside a group of smiling children. They are standing outside in front of a yellow building, and the children are holding additional flags, including the European Union flag and a green flag.
    • President von der Leyen, wearing a light green blouse, hugs a woman wearing a red blouse. The two women are outdoors at what appears to be a construction or disaster recovery site. Many people surround them.
    • President von der Leyen, dressed in a light green blouse, stands beside Rober Golob in a light blue shirt. They are outdoors at what appears to be a construction or disaster recovery site, with microphones from various news outlets positioned in front of them. The woman is looking slightly downward with a thoughtful expression.
    • President von der Leyen, wearing a light green blouse, is inside a gallery or exhibition space, intently observing framed photographs on the wall. One prominent photograph in her line of sight shows a person sitting on rocks, possibly in a distressed situation.

🔔 The first bell has already rung – or might soon do. And, ahem, the EU might have something to do with it.     Like the many bridges we have helped build, schools are here to connect: students and teachers, our past and future, cultures, and communities.     That’s why we are committed to helping build new ones, making them more sustainable, and providing a boost to education systems across the EU.    Here are four examples:    🇭🇷 Ivan Merz Elementary School in Zagreb received €7.7 million for renovations, including 20 classrooms for 380 pupils. 🇵🇱 Żory’s new kindergarten received €565,709 to build a state-of-the-art facility, accommodating up to five preschool classes for about 125 children.     🇸🇰 Emila Belluša Secondary School in Trenčín received €1.8 million for renovations, significantly reducing energy consumption.     🇬🇷 Lappa’s new primary school received €1.2 million to build two modern buildings to meet the district’s primary education.     Schools are the foundations of our future.  Let's keep creating conditions for students and teachers to grow and thrive.    #EUFunded #EuropeanUnion #BackToSchool
