This week, Reuters held events on “Net Zero USA 2023” and “Sustainability Reporting USA 2023” to identify new solutions, collaborations, and investments for #businesses to accelerate #netzero plans as well as to understand how to collect and manage high-quality, consistent, and accurate data, to produce reports that meet national and international regulations. Here are a few highlights: - Daniella Foster, Executive Board Member & SVP, Public Affairs, Science & Sustainability, Consumer Health at Bayer and Network USA Board Chair, addressed the growing demand around social reporting and provided a greater understanding of international reporting and frameworks. - Michael Okoroafor, Ph.D., Chief Sustainability Officer at McCormick & Company and a Network USA Board Member, spoke on a panel on how leading companies are approaching their net-zero transitions. - Ann Tracy, Chief Sustainability Officer at Colgate-Palmolive and a Network USA Board Member, communicated how companies are shifting narratives and incentivizing customers to change their consumption habits to meet net-zero targets. - Adam Roy Gordon, UN Global Compact Network USA Executive Director, moderated two panels: one on collecting quality, consistent, and accurate data with speakers Chris Fox, Chief Sustainability Officer at Hanesbrands Inc., and Anna Palazij, VP Sustainability at PepsiCo; and the other on identifying and reducing carbon hotspots in #supplychains with speakers Katina Boutis, Director of Sustainability at Everlane, and Niklas Reinedahl, General Manager North America at Einride. #sustainability #unitingbusinesses #decarbonization
