Did you know that I started Fire Grounds Coffee Company while deployed in Iraq? I had the help of 2 Air Force JTAC officers, 1 USMC Tank officer, and 1 Army Infantry Staff Sergaent (who’s now a Lt in the Dallas Fire Department). I was working on a First Responder themed coffee company that would give back to First Responder charities. (We have since picked F1RST). While deployed I was able to develop the logo, develop the bag design, research which coffee beans we wanted to use etc. We have a great story and this is just a small part of it!

We have had a great turnout for the first afternoon of our FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA) Georgia Chapter Winter Business Meeting in Augusta, GA! Our first speaker is Dr. Heather Twedell from F1RST, First Responder Stress and Trauma, discussing how to better care for ourselves, our employees, families, and coworkers. This is such an important topic for law enforcement leaders and we are being proactive by openly discussing solutions. We are fortunate to also have with us Philip Wislar, President of F1RST, and Dena Williams MA, LPC, CCTP, Senior Regional Manager with F1RST.
