Fan Controlled Baseball is coming...

Repeating history! Fan Controlled Baseball's partnership with the Oakland Ballers is a modern take on a historic event that happened over 72 years ago. In 1951, legendary owner of the St. Louis Brown (now Baltimore Orioles) Bill Veeck Jr decided to do something different to help his team win by asking fans to submit their thoughts on the starting lineup for the upcoming matchup against the Athletics for what would be known as "Grand Stand Managers" night! Veeck received 4,000 letters from St. Louis fans. Veeck chose two fans, Clark Mitze and Charles E. Hughes, to serve as managers while providing fans in the grand stand with giant place cards with the words YES and NO on either side. During the game, Mitze and Hughes would send their right hand man Bob Fishel to ask fans a question during the game to get there vote, such as "should we steal 2nd?". Fans would then hold up their cards and the decision was relayed to the managers and then to the players on the diamond.The Browns would end the night with a 5-3 win over the Athletics. The next night the manager reclaimed his role and the Browns lost 9-1. Coincidence? We think not. On August 31st FCSE and the Oakland Ballers are taking a page out of Veeck's book and allowing fans to control a baseball game. Could we recreate a win with fan input?
