Congratulations to our FROST LLP team and our client WasteXperts, who just secured a major victory at the California Court of Appeal. Following briefing and argument, the Court of Appeal reversed the trial court’s anti-SLAPP ruling in favor of Athens Services and reinstated all of WasteXperts claims for declaratory relief, interference with contract, and trade libel. Athens is represented by Manatt Phelps & Phillips. The valiant effort and victory was supported by Nicholas Lauber (who handled the oral argument), founding partners Christopher Frost John D. Maatta, and attorneys David T. Shackelford and David Tiraturyan.

FROST LLP is proud to announce the appointment of Michael J. Garofola as Managing Partner of our newly-established New York office. Michael brings a wealth of experience as a former federal prosecutor and senior in-house corporate counsel. His experience will enhance our firm's focus on antitrust, appellate, entertainment, and complex business litigation. This expansion marks a significant milestone just after our one-year anniversary. Today we stand in solidarity of Juneteenth. In the words of our Director of Litigation Support, Allison Mayo-Andrews: “Juneteenth helps remind me of all the adversity we have faced as African Americans and everything we can overcome. On Juneteenth, I encourage all of us to think about the meaning of liberation and what it truly means to be Black in America.”

FROST LLP was proud to co-host a closing celebration for last week’s Green Sports Alliance Summit, at The Rhythm Room in downtown LA. We’re so impressed with the continued dedication of the Green Sports Alliance to making sustainable progress for the planet, and we continue to be inspired by the work of our clients in the conservation and recycling space–including our co-hosts at WasteXperts. In true FROST fashion, there were performances by outstanding musical acts and a charity component. Musical guests were Zac Maloy of The Nixons and Vinnie Dombroski of Sponge along with a special opening act–The CHIA Band. The band’s guitarist, Isabelle Stambaugh, happens to be the daughter of FROST founding partner Josh Stambaugh and a summer intern at the firm. A massive thank you to all the amazing performers and bidders at our silent auction. All proceeds went to the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health, and we were fortunate to be joined by JRF’s amazing founder Amy Yasbeck. Thanks also to our co-hosts at Crawford Communications & Branding.
