The Georgia Conservancy welcomed volunteers to Sweetwater Creek State Park on June 1st for a National Trails Day Service Project. Volunteers added fencing around the rooftop garden at the Visitor's Center while also providing some garden maintenance. Other groups were on invasive species removal duty - pulling the invasive stiltgrass from areas around the Park's Red Trail. Removal of the stiltgrass will allow for native ferns to expand on the forest floor. Thanks to everyone who joined us! Friends of Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites, Inc.
