Here’s the harsh reality, folks: 87% of revenue leaders are STILL getting their funnels wrong. 😬 After chatting with so many RevOps pros, I’ve seen it all—from funnel fantasies to absolute funnel nightmares. 😱 If your funnel looks more like a leaky bucket, you’re not alone. Here are the 10 biggest mistakes people make in their funnels and how to fix them! 💪 🔥 1. Cross-Functional Alignment? More like Cross-Functional Chaos! Think Marketing, Sales, and CS are all on the same page? Think again. Most teams use different rulebooks and wonder why the funnel falls apart. 🧩 Align your teams with regular meetings where everyone defines and agrees on each stage. Your funnel is a team sport—everyone needs to play together. 🏅 🚨 2. Garbage Data, Garbage Decisions. You know what they say: “Garbage in, garbage out.” If your data is inconsistent or flat-out WRONG, then all your funnel metrics are too. Start by setting up data validation rules in your CRM and do a monthly data cleanse. You don't want to look under that rug! 🧹 🎯 3. Funnel Stages: Make Them Clear as Day! Data Enrichment – Your Funnel's Secret Weapon! Still running your funnel without data enrichment? That’s like bringing a knife to a gunfight. 🥲 Use tools like Clearbit or ZoomInfo to enrich your data and segment leads like a pro. 🔥 🎪 6. Juggling Multiple Funnels? Don’t Drop the Ball! Running different funnels for multiple products or teams? Don’t let things get messy. Use custom objects in Salesforce to keep each funnel clean and organized. Regular sync-ups between teams managing different funnels will save you from chaos! 🤹♂️ 🌀 7. Flywheels, Bowties, and Other Funnel Models – Keep it Simple! New funnel models like flywheels and bowties are all the rage. Pick what aligns with your business, define your stages, and keep optimizing. They were debating whether to set up a separate RevOps vertical or simply expand their SalesOps team to handle it. This conversation got me thinking about the exact value addition of RevOps and why SalesOps just can’t double as RevOps. So what exactly is Revops bringing to the table: 🔄 B2B Buyer Cycles Are Evolving: Everything’s digital, and the old linear sales approach is history. We need agility, and product-led growth (PLG) is leading the charge. 🔧 RevOps to the Rescue: Think of RevOps as the glue that holds your marketing, sales, and customer success together.
