🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce Jeremy Hartman as the newest member of the Quiller advisory board. Jeremy brings a wealth of experience advising at Arena, The Buy Nothing Project, and California State Polytechnic, as well as a career of marketing leadership at Cisco and GoDaddy. Jeremy's expertise in strategy, innovation, and fostering community-driven initiatives will be invaluable as we continue to maximize our impact with partners in 2024 and beyond. We look forward to his contributions in guiding our vision and growth. Here's why Jeremy chose Quiller: "While everyone acknowledges the revolutionary potential of GenAI, its effective application remains unclear. I joined the Quiller advisory board because Quiller stands out, especially at this early stage in the technology cycle, in making GenAI both powerful and practical for organizations. Quiller is leading the way in unlocking the value of this technology for its customers, serving as a crucial guide for the rest of the industry in how to bring GenAI-enabled products to market successfully." Welcome, Jeremy!

Excited to be quoted alongside the amazing Maya Hutchinson in today's Digiday piece on how AI is helping small political campaigns scale content. Quiller is helping campaigns of every size increase their money raised per work hour spent drafting emails by as much as 300%. Our new enhancement tools are helping people rewrite, repurpose, and improve their writing in record time. Time saved equals... ↳ more money raised ↳ more voters converted ↳ more elections won We're on to something here and I'm excited to see what our team and others like Maya's accomplish in the coming years. ✌ Quotes below. I bombed at the New Tools Showcase last year. It was so early in the company that I hadn't figured out how to talk about Quiller with any confidence yet. I didn't practice my speech, I wasn't as coherent as I could have been & I was dressed poorly (my usual attire of a black t-shirt & wrinkled shorts). I was stumbling over my words & had to read notes off from my phone. I hadn't figured out how to talk about our product yet. I wasn't prepared or confident in what we had to sell, which was frustrating because I think of myself as a pretty good public speaker & I hold myself to a high standard. I was so excited to tell everybody about Quiller, but I came in completely unprepared. What drove me mad afterward was people around me, with good intentions, who kept telling me I had done a good job when I knew I had messed up. The good news is a longtime friend of mine came up to me after & gave me cold, hard, honest criticism about how badly I had done. She told me it was clear that I was nervous & unprepared, that I needed to be more succinct. She said I had to dress better so that I’d look professional & be more confident on stage. So… I spent the last year practicing not only pitching Quiller as often as I could, but also doing public speaking events, taking online courses, reading books & buying a few nice jackets to wear so I could feel confident in myself (my new uniform is jeans, black shirt, jacket, and a nice pair of Nikes). This year, New Media Ventures & Higher Ground Labs had the new tool showcase again. I submitted Quiller for some of the new tools we've been building (our new API, enhancement tools, & content types). I didn’t win, but my pitch was a lot stronger & I felt like I belonged alongside some really great companies. Overall, my pitch went well & we got some good leads for future users & partners coming out of it. I felt good & confident in myself because I had put in the work. I was prepared & had practiced my pitch. I didn't need my phone or note cards & I was dressed nicely. It's a good example of what a little effort, practice, & honest advice from someone you trust can give you. I hope everyone has someone like that friend who will tell them the cold hard truth when it's needed the most because facing those moments of failure is when we have our best opportunity to grow. 📷 Proud to be a part of this group & congrats to the folks at Social Currant for winning the overall prize.

I had a post all teed up today reflecting on a successful trip to Baltimore for Networks Nation. But given everything going on right now & over the last few weeks, it doesn't seem relevant to what's happening. So I just wanted to take a minute to brain dump my general thoughts & feelings about this moment in time that we're in. This has been said by many people very eloquently: there shouldn't be any room for violence in our society. Irrespective of whether it's an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, an attack on Nancy Pelosi's husband, or someone trying to kidnap Governor Whitmer, these things should not be happening in a healthy democracy & a functioning society. The same is true with school shootings. To me, I see a tremendous amount of similarities between the shooter in the Trump assassination attempt & any one of the people who does one of these school shootings—alone, isolated, on the fringes, no support for mental health, access to weapons of war, no support from their community. It's very, very sad. They become trapped by the internet. A particularly lunatic & far-right fringe part of the internet that drives people to do these things in order to destabilize society & that makes me incredibly sad. I don't know what the next steps are. I know that far too many people are trying to act as if the election is over, or trying to use this moment to paper over their own political agendas & rhetoric. That's wrong & it shouldn't be happening. I'd ask people to take a deep breath & remember that big moments in an age of polarization & the internet tend to shift things less because of people's attention spans. I would also remind everyone when you're scared & you're trying to figure out what to do, sometimes the best thing is to rely on, build & support your community. What a community looks like & means to people is very, very different. To me, it is my wife & my son who are the most important things to me. So I spent most of the day yesterday hanging out with Teddy, watching a movie, eating pizza, going on a walk, wrestling, & being silly. I think finding ways to support one another & to draw from each other's wells is going to be how we get through the next couple of days. It's going to be how we get through the next couple of months. It's going to be how we get through the next couple of years, however they play out. We are very resilient as human beings & we're going to be okay. We just have to stick by each other & keep doing the work to organize & create change because it's more important than ever in times like these. P.S. Two of the communities I’m a part of are our teams at Authentic & Quiller. I’m very proud of both today. Our team at ACI did an amazing job reacting on behalf of our clients over the weekend in a very stressful situation. Our team at Quiller had an amazing weekend in Baltimore & it was good to see so many old friends. Here’s a photo of our booth from Netroots, which looked great imho:

I'll be in Baltimore later this week for Netroots Nation where I'll be giving two presentations Saturday morning. At 9am, I'll be leading a session called "AI Prompt Generation for Political Activists” that’s designed to empower activists with the latest AI tools and best practices for creating great content. At 11:30am, I'll be participating in "New Tools Showcase" to highlight the new Quiller features we've rolled out over the last several months, including our new "Review & Improve" tool (which is so, so cool.) Would love to connect with friends both old and new. Drop me a line if you want to get coffee or something — thanks!
