Congratulations to Mantel, one of our Newlab x GNO, Inc. U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) EPIC program participants, on these latest milestones in advancing their high-temperature carbon capture systems. We're excited to see Louisiana emerge as the destination to support innovators like Mantel in developing the next generation of #climatetech solutions. Reach out to our team to learn more about EPIC and our partnership with Newlab.
📣 Mantel is thrilled to announce the closing of our $30 million Series A funding round co-led by Shell Ventures and Eni Next. Additional participating investors include Engine Ventures, New Climate Ventures, Hartree Partners, bp Ventures, Arosa, Vale Ventures, Newlab, MCJ, and others. Mantel, a technology provider of carbon capture systems, leverages molten borates, the only high-temperature liquid-phase carbon capture materials, to capture CO2 at the source of emission. ♻ The funding will be used to implement a demonstration project at an industrial site and help pave the way for full-scale commercial deployment of Mantel’s high-temperature carbon capture systems. With backing from leaders in the energy industry, Mantel is scaling its technology, which could cut costs by more than half. Read more in our press release below. https://lnkd.in/eyCzW2Xm

Today marks the 19th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the 3rd anniversary of Hurricane Ida. Katrina was a defining moment in our city's history, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of so many. As we reflect on these tragedies, we also look ahead with hope. This February, New Orleans will host the Super Bowl, offering us a chance to showcase the strength, spirit, and pride of our incredible city. Let's honor the past by coming together to celebrate all that makes New Orleans great and build a brighter future for everyone.
