The ability to succeed lives within you, as long as you recognize it and are willing to do the work. Green Beret Nick Lavery is the first above-the-knee amputee to return to combat—an achievement made possible by his drive, commitment, and unwavering belief in himself. The Stars & Stripes Classic is now in the books, where Nick served as the honorary captain for the Green Beret Foundation team. Nick sat down with Fran Racioppi to recap the action, share what it meant to be selected to represent the team, and explain the significance of greatness at Gillette Stadium. Nick and Fran also issued a call to service, emphasizing that doing hard things consistently, without compromise or excuse, is the only path to success in any endeavor. Supporting America's Special Forces Soldiers and Their Families
Über uns
The United States Army Special Forces, commonly known as the Green Berets, produces some of our nation’s finest and most elite warriors. They fight across a broad spectrum of missions in the pursuit of freedom for those oppressed and to protect our nation from those who seek to do us harm. They are known as our country's quiet professionals. The Green Berets have been defending our nation against its enemies throughout the last 5 decades in times of peace and war. The liberties we enjoy as Americans don’t come without a cost. The Special Forces bear the burden of having the highest number of wounded personnel of any other U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) proponent. The Green Beret Foundation serves these quiet professionals who bravely serve the American people and its freedoms. In an effort to fill the gaps in support left by the boundaries of other organizations, the GBF facilitates assistance to our wounded, ill and injured Special Forces soldiers and their families. We do this by providing resources to ease the burdens of some of the financial hardships that arise in their time of need as well as improving the quality of life for the soldier and the family.

We are thrilled to recognize Paula Varga as our East Coast Carolinas Veteran Service Officer (VSO) of Q2. Paula has played a pivotal role in assisting countless Green Berets with their VA Service Claims. She has been leading the Caroline Region, and supporting 3rd Group and others with a profound sense of pride, and dedication, a challenge she's embraced wholeheartedly. Since then, Paula has successfully secured over $262,000 in retroactive benefits for Green Beret veterans by guiding them through the complex process of updating or refiling their VA disability claims. Paula has been with the Green Beret Foundation for just under three years, initially volunteering for about five months before being hired. Her deep connection to the Green Beret community is further strengthened by her marriage to a retired Green Beret Sergeant Major, a veteran of 23 years. Paula’s dedication, expertise, and personal commitment make her an invaluable asset to the Green Beret Foundation, the regiment, and the families of our nation’s warfighters. Her unwavering commitment to serving those who have served us is truly commendable. If you are a Green Beret in need of assistance with your VA claim, please reach out through our support request link at https://lnkd.in/dZe4PTb. Additionally, if you would like to support our VSO initiative, please consider donating through the "Donate" button and designating your contribution to our VSO program. #VeteranServiceOfficer #GreenBeretFoundation #GreenBerets #VeteranBenefits

Being a captain isn't just about holding a title; it's about leading your formation onto the field of battle—whatever that may be. Nick sat down with Fran Racioppi to recap the action, share what it meant to be selected to represent the team, and explain the significance of competing at Gillette Stadium. Andy's Bronco was more than just a vehicle—it was an extension of him, much like his well-worn LA Dodgers cap and his ever-present Copenhagen snuff. The stunning depiction of Andy's Bronco was crafted by Ashley Jolly, the wife of one of Andy's teammates and a fellow Southern Californian. As many remember, Andy was often seen during the summer with his children and his chocolate lab in the back seat, music playing loudly as they all joyfully sang along to classics like Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons' "Walk Like a Man." These moments were a source of deep happiness for Andy—times when he could forget everything else and simply revel in the joy of being a father, the role he cherished most. Proceeds from this t-shirt will help the Green Beret Foundation continue providing vital mental health care support to Green Berets and their families, ensuring that even in the darkest times, those special moments can still happen. Our goal is to leave no Green Beret or family member behind, giving them the care they need to live meaningful, fulfilling lives free from the shadow of suicide. The Green Beret Foundation and the U.S. Army Special Forces community will never forget the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. On this solemn anniversary, we pause to honor the lives lost, the heroes who rushed into harm's way, and the sacrifices made in the days, months, and years that followed. The attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, PA, forever changed our nation, but they also ignited an enduring commitment to serve. Since that day, the U.S. Army Special Forces have borne the weight of over 60% of all casualties and injuries within the Special Operations Forces. As we mark the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we ask that you join us in a moment of silence to remember the victims, the first responders, and all who continue to sacrifice in the name of freedom. #NeverForget #HonorTheFallen #GreenBeretFoundation
