We were thrilled to host the "First edition of the LEED in Africa Series - In Dialogue with USGBC & GBCI" event on August 12th, 2024, at Mövenpick Hotel & Residences in Nairobi, Kenya. It was a great success, with over 50 participants in attendance, including thought leaders from our clientele, partner organizations, USGBC member organizations, architectural firms, LEED consulting firms, think tanks, and academia. The event featured a panel of experts discussing the significance of adopting LEED for both existing and upcoming projects, Kenya's climate ambition for net zero by 2050, relevant opportunities across different segments, market trends, their alignment with decarbonization, the need and relevance for training and capacity building, and expectations for the future. We are delighted to announce that GBCI and Kenya Green Building Society (KGBS) agreed to strategically collaborate on areas of mutual cooperation such as education, capacity building, joint events, and knowledge sharing. Moreover, the event included an exclusive award ceremony to recognize 7 LEED Certified projects in Kenya.
