GRID Alternatives Tribal team has partnered with Northwest Native Chamber and Clackamas Community College to provide 120 hours of hands on solar installation training for Portland area Indigenous people and residents. We are going strong in week two and just completed our second install using IronRidge - An Enstall Company racking! I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with these trainees and partners. Big thanks to Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF) for their sponsorship and support. P.S. The Clackamas campus is seriously beautiful! #solar #workforcedevelopment #renewableenergy

Well done, to our Puerto Rico-based IBT trainers and their students for this milestone! 👏
A huge congratulations to this group of students who just graduated from GRID Alternatives Installation Basics Training (IBT) course in Puerto Rico. This is the 6th group GRID Puerto Rico team has trained in 2024, setting a record pace for local workforce development training. GRID was able to bring our IBT program to Puerto Rico thanks to our collaboration with Empowered by Light who provided some seed funding to make the launch possible for an initial one-year pilot program. We look forward to the future with more clean energy! #workforcedevelopment #puertorico #puertoricosolar #solarenergy #solartraining

Baja California, in Mexico, is known for many things — vast and breathtaking terracotta desert landscapes, a vibrant and historically rich culture, mouthwateringly fresh seafood, and incredibly friendly locals who with open arms, regularly welcome tourists from around the world. 🌊 🌵 But what is not as readily known to the tourists that swarm the scenic landscapes, is that Baja California is first and foremost home to many indigenous communities. GRID has been working with indigenous communities in Mexico since 2018, bringing off-grid solar systems to the many homes and community buildings that are not connected to the national electricity grid. In November this year, we are continuing our work and bringing solar-powered refrigeration to an off-grid indigenous community. 💡 We want to extend the opportunity for YOU to join us! From November 2-9th, you could be a part of a group travelling to Baja California with GRID, participating in a solar installation that will create real impact for local families, making lifelong friendships with like-minded travelers, and get to really immerse yourself in Mexican history and culture, guided by our local program leaders. 100% of your program fees will go towards funding this install. ☀ For more information or to register your interest in this trip, head on over to: https://lnkd.in/duYJAP3k Seats are limited and are first come first serve. #internationaltravel #mexico #bajacalifornia #travel #travelwithpurpose #dogood #impact #solar #solarinstallation #renewables #renewableenergy #sustainabledevelopment #indigenouscommunity

Thank you to our partner, Sempra, for your ongoing support of our National Tribal Program!
🤝 Helping shape a brighter future for the communities we serve. The Sempra Foundation recently granted funds to the GRID Alternatives National Tribal Program, enabling their team to provide photovoltaic solar panels to the La Jolla Band’s Tribal Elders Hall. ☀️ The project aims to generate enough electricity to help the tribe save an estimated $250,000 in energy costs over 20 years.
