Talent Talks – HR at the heart of successful change   Earlier this year Hedley May hosted a diverse and talented group of HR leaders for our ‘Talent Talks’ series, where we discussed how businesses have confronted the exceptionally volatile environment they have faced over the past year. In a lively and wide-ranging conversation we discussed learnings and how we can continue to find opportunity in the face of turbulence. A key takeaway is that HR is increasingly integral to transformation and how organisation’s navigate the turbulence they face. HR leaders are sought out for their judgement and leadership, they are empowered to develop a strong and clear view on business strategy and have the confidence to express these views at the top table. Thank you to Rupert Younger and Stewart Prosser for inviting Hedley May, to address this year’s Corporate Affairs Academy intake at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. An impressive group of senior communications executives from around the globe were in attendance at the programme that looks to incorporate a balance of leading academic research and functional best practices from industry experts. We were pleased to be able to present our analysis of the Corporate Affairs Director role. Hedley May, is focused on the appointment of Corporate Functional Leaders including Legal & Corporate Governance, HR & Reward, Finance & Audit, Risk & Compliance and Corporate Affairs & Sustainability. We were therefore able to share our view of the key leadership characteristics and skills that the very best #FunctionalLeaders possess through our: “How to Eat your Lunch” presentation.
