Please help us welcome Hero Dogs Chas and Hero Dogs Faith! Hero Dogs Ensign Charles Mann Stern, USN, "Chas", is a two-month-old Labrador retriever sponsored by the Lusk family. He is named after a family member and US Navy servicemember who was on the USS Oklahoma when it capsized on December 7, 1941 during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. His sister is Hero Dogs LTC Don C. Faith Jr., USA, "Faith", and is sponsored by the Hitchcock Hoagland Foundation. She is named after a decorated officer in the US Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in Korea. Their mama Hero Dogs Spirit is getting lots of love from her puppy raiser and her three other puppies are going to Assistance Dogs International Breeding Cooperative member organizations. Hero Dogs, Inc., a Maryland 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, improves quality of life for our nation’s heroes by raising, training, and placing service dogs and other highly skilled canines, free of charge with lifetime support of the partnerships. The Hero Dogs staff and volunteers train dogs to assist veterans and first responders with physical limitations and/or mobility issues, hearing loss, mental health disorders, or combinations of these. A Hero Dog reduces a veteran’s reliance on other people by doing tasks that the veteran cannot do alone. A dedicated service dog can give a veteran the confidence and support to travel outside the home independently, (re)join the workforce, and accomplish the everyday tasks of living. Hero Dogs relies on volunteers to fill a variety of roles in the organization. We are happy to announce that two Hero Dogs have joined our Therapy Dog Program! Hero Dogs Floyd and Hero Dogs Hudson have been working hard in therapy dog class and have attended numerous visits in our community. Thank you to their volunteer handlers for supporting our Therapy Dog Program and accompanying these dogs as they bring joy and comfort to everyone they meet!

It's always a good day when we get to announce a service dog partnership! Congratulations to Randy, a retired Prince William County Police Department police officer, and his service dog Hero Dogs Cliff! We are grateful to Hero Dogs Clifford Paulsen’s puppy raiser, Tobi, and also to the estate of Clifford Paulsen for sponsoring Cliff. Thanks also to Sterling Point Advisors for providing his puppy scholarship. He couldn’t have reached this achievement without each of these supporters. We are so happy for Randy and Cliff and and can't wait to see what their partnership adds to both of their lives.

Welcome to advanced training Hero Dogs Kelly! My 10th and last Hero Dog! Hero Dogs Kelly is named in honor of Marine 1st Lt. Robert Michael Kelly. 1st Lt.
