We invest in the dreams of families in the world's underserved communities as we proclaim and live the Gospel.

Based in Lancaster, PA, HOPE International (HOPE) is a Christian faith-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization investing in the dreams of families in the world's underserved communities as we proclaim and live the Gospel. Why Christ-centered financial services? We believe families in poverty have the God-given talents and skills to provide for their families. What they don’t have is a lump sum of money to invest in their potential—by paying school fees, saving for the future, or investing in businesses. Two billion people around the world do not have access to financial services. 91 percent of adults in high-income countries have an account compared to just 28 percent in low-income countries. We desire to see men and women around the world find their soul’s satisfaction in Christ and become dignified, hope-filled providers in their families and communities. In obedience to Christ’s command to love our neighbor and make disciples of all nations, HOPE International provides discipleship opportunities, biblically based training, a safe place to save, and loans. We offer these services through two models: 1. Savings groups are groups of individuals who save their money together in partnership with the local church. As they build a secure sum of money, members often take out loans from their group to pay for household expenses or invest in businesses. 2. Microfinance institutions are banks designed to serve entrepreneurs in poverty by providing loans, a safe place to save, and other financial services to help men and women invest in their businesses and provide for their families. We have a heart for underserved areas. In some cases, we start a HOPE-managed program; in others, we partner with an existing Christ-centered ministry. Together, the HOPE network consists of microfinance institutions and savings group programs working throughout Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. www.hopeinternational.org

Just 1% of the Doma people, an isolated people group in northern Zimbabwe, know Jesus (Joshua Project).   At HOPE International, we consider the Doma a “frontier” community: a group of people who have been isolated by poverty, marginalized, and unreached by the Gospel.    We’re helping the Doma start savings groups, where they can pray and read God’s Word together. We’ve partnered with the Bible Society of Zimbabwe to support community members who are illiterate. They have provided solar-powered audio Bibles to this community!     Roughly 41% of people worldwide have not heard the Gospel. We’re Dreaming Beyond spiritual isolation, believing that the Good News is for all people!    If you’d like to join us in Dreaming Beyond and help us share the hope of the Gospel with the least served—like the Doma—visit https://lnkd.in/eid9kib3   Part 5 of 6

Savey is a member of the Doma community, an isolated and spiritually unreached people group in northern Zimbabwe with a high illiteracy rate. 44% of the Doma people we surveyed have no formal education. Savey shares, “I took interest in savings groups because we will be banking our money. When we share out the money at the end of the year, it will help our children who want to go to school. We won't struggle to find the money to pay school fees.” At HOPE International, we’re Dreaming Beyond to reach 21 marginalized groups—like the Doma—by 2025 to help them break the cycle of #poverty and access more opportunities like formal #education. “By God’s grace, my mother was also part of a savings group—and it changed the trajectory of our lives," shares Moses Ndahiro, HOPE International’s senior director of savings group programs. “I watched my mother faithfully save week after week. With loans from her group, she paid for me and my siblings to go to school. I don’t know what my life would have looked like without the support of my mother’s saving.” We’re convinced that this work matters! So, we're accelerating and expanding our proven models—Christ-centered savings groups and microfinance—to reach the people and communities that need them most. Evelyn was invited to join a savings group through one of HOPE’s church partners in Zimbabwe. This group offered an opportunity for her to gather with others in her Doma community to be discipled, gain biblically based training, and grow in her faith.    “I embraced the [savings] program because I saw it as something that can uplift some of us who are lowly.”      We praise God that we've met our 2025 goal to reach 20 new frontier groups (the least served), but we're not stopping there! We continue seeking opportunities to serve more frontier groups like the Doma. By offering the hope of Christ and financial services, people living in poverty can realize their God-given dignity!     We invite you to join us: https://lnkd.in/eid9kib3 Part 2 of 6

Evelyn is a member of the Doma community, an isolated and spiritually unreached people group in Zimbabwe. Providing daily food for her six kids is a struggle. In fact, 42% of the 200 Doma people we surveyed reported eating only one meal a day. In the dry months, they have almost no access to fresh food. Before we could invite community members into church-based savings groups, we needed to first help them meet this vital need for themselves. So, we partnered with MATTER ® to teach the Doma how to grow chaya, a plant similar to kale that can be grown, cooked, and eaten year-round. 🪴 Today, Evelyn feels more confident in joining others in a savings group and is beginning to put small sums aside to invest in her future dreams. Around the HOPE network, many in savings groups farm to make ends meet. Offering them training in farming improvements empowers them in their work and helps them increase their savings. Today is Financial Awareness Day in the U.S.: a day to reflect on our financial habits and take proactive steps toward achieving our goals. Every day, we see people living in poverty working hard to achieve their dreams. There are now more than 3 million internally displaced people (IDPs) living in Ukraine. How do we continue to walk alongside families who can't return home because of the war? The HOPE Ukraine team took a listening-first approach to assess IDP's evolving needs—and got a surprising answer. Find out more on our blog: https://lnkd.in/ggNfvnpB
