IndiJ Public Media, the parent company of ICT, announces a major transformation for its award-winning newscast this fall when it re-emerges as a weekly broadcast. The new “ICT Newscast” is designed to bring richer and more engaging Indigenous content from across Turtle Island when it launches its weekly format on Sept. 6. Until then, the program will take a brief hiatus to retool and prepare for the coming changes. The weekly format will result in more coverage of the topics that the newscast’s core audience expect from ICT. Read the full press release at https://ow.ly/x4pm50SECVJ. Digital. Indigenous. News. A spacious channel for news produced by and for Indigenous people.
About us
Indian Country Today is a nonprofit news site and an independent public media outlet with both digital and broadcast teams. It is a leading source of news about Indigenous issues and provides historical context on how national issues impact Indigenous communities. We are changing the narrative on how Indigenous people are reported on and covered in the news. Although it has been a nonprofit startup since 2017, it began as a newspaper, the Lakota Times, in 1981.
