In this role since 2021, Theo has been responsible for facilitating and managing company-wide programs and projects designed to strategically reinvest capital in our portfolio. Theo values time with his team, which he says allows him to learn and grow as he advances his career. A fun fact about Theo is that he was the mascot for Virginia Commonwealth University, where he had the opportunity to travel across the country with the basketball team—Go Rams! Our Dallas-based Technology team wasn’t afraid to get their hands dirty in an effort to keep the streets clean! Earlier this year, the team participated in the Don’t mess with Texas “Trash-Off,” the state’s largest one-day cleanup event hosted by the Texas Department of Transportation. The Trash-Off is critical to Texas’ contribution to the Great American Cleanup, the nation’s largest community improvement program, and TxDOT’s litter prevention efforts. Mortgage rates recently hit their lowest level in over a year. While this should be welcome news for prospective homeowners, there still aren’t enough options on the market, as many would-be sellers are locked into lower rates. This dynamic continues to be compounded by an overall lack of supply in single-family homes. “Rates are going to go up, they’re going to go down… The bigger structural issue is the lack of inventory. That’s not going away,” says Freddie Mac Chief Economist Sam Khater. While our role in the overall housing market is small, we’re doing our part to help increase future supply through build-to-rent (BTR) operations while providing a valuable housing option for those looking to lease a single-family home today.
