Oleksandr developed a passion for baking while growing up in Ukraine, and went to a Food Technology school in Kiev to learn more about baking and develop his craft. He then started working full-time at a bakery, but when the war began, Oleksandr was forced to leave his home country. He came to the United States and was settled in Delaware. The JFS Delaware RISE (Refugee Integration Support Effort) program helped Oleksandr get settled and began working on a self-sufficiency plan for him. He then shared his aspiration to open his own bakery. The RISE team connected Oleksandr with Microenterprise Development (MED) Program Coordinator Kylie Hislope at HIAS, and they started working towards his dream. Kylie assisted Oleksandr in creating a comprehensive business plan, provided valuable information regarding finance management and the loan system in the U.S., and identified a commercial kitchen for Oleksandr to use. Oleksandr has now officially opened his very own bakery, Dream Bakery, with his girlfriend Al, who is also from Ukraine! Using only natural ingredients, Dream Bakery offers organic artisan sourdough and desserts. Every product is made with care and dedication, ensuring each bite is a delightful experience. Send Dream Bakery a message on Instagram (https://lnkd.in/eijZfeJb) or Facebook (https://lnkd.in/eTqkFuve) to place an order, and visit their table at the New Castle County Farmer's Market! You can also visit them Saturday's from 9am - 2pm at 211 Delaware Street for a pop-up market "On the Green", and Sundays and Wednesdays from 8am - 1pm for a pop-up at The Window on Delaware Street at 222 Delaware Street. #ServicesForAll #HelpingYouThrive #RISEwithRefugees #DreamBakery
